Your Aliyah Questions, Answered

What exactly are my "Aliyah Shipping Rights"?
As a new Oleh (immigrant), you have a significant benefit: you can import your used household goods and personal effects completely tax-free. You can also import one car with a reduced tax rate. This right is valid for three years from your Aliyah date. Our job as your customs broker is to ensure your shipment is correctly declared as an "Oleh Shipment" so you get these full benefits without any issues.
Should I bring my electrical appliances from North America (110V)?
This is a very common and practical question. While you *can* bring them, Israel's power is 220V. Most modern electronics (laptops, phones) are dual-voltage and just need a plug adapter. However, large appliances like TVs, kitchen mixers, or power tools will require a heavy and often costly power transformer to work. It's often more practical to sell larger 110V items and buy new ones in Israel. We can help you decide what's worth shipping during our consultation.
What happens when the ship arrives? Do I need to go to the port myself?
No, absolutely not. This is a core part of our service and our value. Handling the port and customs process is complex and can be very intimidating. As your official representatives, we manage the entire clearance process on your behalf. The next time you see your belongings will be when our delivery team brings them to your new home in Israel.
Can I pack myself, or do you have to do it?
You can certainly do some packing yourself. However, we highly recommend using our professional "export packing" service for fragile and valuable items. There are two main reasons: first, our teams are trained to pack items to withstand a long sea journey. Second, for insurance purposes, items packed by the owner ("PBO") are often not covered for damage to the same extent as those packed by our certified professionals.
